Another Disney Trip??!!

Disney 2015 258

So, I have been planning another Walt Disney World trip in secret. We wanted to surprise the kids on Christmas Day with a trip for this year. They didn’t get to go last year and we had them convinced that we were going to wait until 2018 to go again. We actually booked the trip in September and I even made the Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) at the 180 day mark without telling them.

I actually asked for their input. They just don’t know it.  We talk about Disney quite often at the dinner table and over the past few months I was asking questions like, “If you could only go to one Disney restaurant which one would it be?” or “If we were in Disney World where would you be eating dinner tonight and what would you order?”

I think I hit a great mixture of our favorite tried and true favorites and new restaurants to try:

Day 1 – arrival (counter service)

Day 2 – Princess Storybook Dining Breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (breakfast), Tappan Edo (dinner)

Day 3 – Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare (dinner)

Day 4 – Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant Dinner (dinner) – My daughter is hoping that she can dance here again.

Day 5 – Be Out Guest QSR (lunch), Artist Point (dinner)

Day 6 – Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria Dinner (dinner)

Day 7 – A Buffet with Character Dinner at the Crystal Palace (dinner)

Day 8 – O’Hana Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch (breakfast)

Day 9 – Departure

So, my Disney friends any suggestions for changes or things I should rethink?

We are going during a busy time of year so we are planning on less park time, more pool and recreation time this trip.  We have Park Hopper Tickets, Meal Plan and are driving so we have our own transportation between parks or hotel and parks. This will certainly be an interesting trip!

Next task is to book FastPasses!

When I went with my family, we had the late night passes! You get to go back out on rides after the park closes. No lines. It was awesome. And my memory says the food was amazing there.

I think it was either “Disney After Hours” or “Extra Magic Hours” but it was nice for the kids while the adults went to sleep early and exhausted haha.

Yes! Extra Magic Hours are great! We stayed in Magic Kingdom once until 2 am and my kids thought they were so grown up! 🙂

Sounds like y’all are going to have a blast! I know park food can get pricey so days y’all don’t have lunch reservations definitely take some sandwiches and snacks! I also have some fun tips on my blog of different things to do so definitely check that out before you go! Have fun!

  10. I remember the jungle cruise restaurant being AWESOME! They had a green Fanta from Thailand and an orange one from Brazil or something. I had the Thai one and it tasted great!

How awesome! I love surprise trips! We are planning to head back in September (bounce back) but I am still not sold on it because it is the second week of school for my son. Maybe a girls only trip.

We love ohanas for breakfast. It’s our favorite character meal .Mickeys at the contemporary had the best food considering Disneys standard, entertainment is okay. Whispering Canyon In Wilderness Lodge is fun – but check reviews to see if it’s something you’d like. We laughed the entire meal it was so crazy.
The other character breakfasts were just okay – mainly getting our autograph books signed and good pics.
If you go off grounds, we always go to shogun on 192 , make reservations. and for a quick easy meal- flippers pizza 🍕

We went to Mickey’s and my partner was terrified by the birds (haha). They flew in over her head and we had to leave. We have been to Whispering Canyon but not for breakfast. May have to try that. We are thinking The Cape May Cafe’ breakfast next time. We like to try one breakfast each trip. We are not big breakfast eaters but it is the best way to get us up and out on the day we leave without too many tears, mostly from me! Thanks for the suggestions!
