Four years ago I began blogging. It was really rough the first year. We were getting married (again), moving and I was trying to figure the whole blogging thing out. My photography was horrible and my writing was sporadic. I didn’t know how to blog, network or publicize my blog. I was a mess.
But, I have learned, admittedly most of the learning curve has been in this last year. I went from 500 followers last January to almost 2,000 now. I thank each and every one of you for your help, suggestions and encouragement along the way.
The Recipe Hunter, A Fresh Brewed Faith, and The Purple Almond (click for links to the blogs) have all recently nominated me for a blogger award. Normally I don’t do these but decided since it was my bloggiversary to say thank you to them. Visit their blogs for some great recipes and inspiration.
One of the questions on their blogs was; Where do most of your views come from? Mine mostly come from either WordPress or Pinterest. Because I am mostly a food and family blogger my blog lines up naturally best with Pinterest in social media.
So in the spirit of sharing on my bloggiversary I am opening up again to sharing your social media accounts. I have found that growing my blog outside of WordPress is helpful. Below are my links:

Four years? Wow! You do a great job!

Twitter: @gary_loggins – with (almost) daily birthday salutes to stars, retweets of interest, and occasional live tweets of classic movies and Boston sports games (Go Patriots!!)
Facebook: Cracked Rear Viewer – a page featuring not only my thrice-weekly blog posts, but loads of daily extras from the movie & pop culture worlds!

Happy bloggiversary! I do have a Pinterest account under the same name as my blog, with a board for my recipes, another board for good food I want to make, then some very random unused boards. I also have a Facebook page under the same name but I don’t get much traffic on it due to their algorithms. They want you to pay to promote your pages. You don’t need to follow me on those forums as you find me here!

I don’t pay for my account or to promote pins or posts. Although I am fairly active on Pinterest which may help. I think it’s fun.

Links like this are nice, but I’ve more or less opted out of social media. I have an Instagram account and I will upload a picture if I remember to do it. I’m trying to sort both the real world and cyber-world out. Separating people from their opinions has become a bit of a challenge. Bottom line: people are more lovable than opinions. Always. No exceptions.
