My daughter and I spent the last weekend together at the Wisconsin Springtime Feis and the Celtic Spirit Feis. I love spending time in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My daughter laughed at me as we drove into the city and said, “I could live here.” She told me I say that every time we drive into a large city. Hmmm, maybe I need to start exploring that idea.
But, this was the first Feis for my daughter trying out her new dress. She just picked it up on Thursday for the Feis this weekend. We got to buy her a new wig and it was fun having her try on the different wigs. I am not going to show the wigs she did not get but let’s just say she looked a bit like a demented Dolly Parton in a few of them.
My daughter had to take 6 weeks off from dancing because she had tendonitis in both ankles after St. Patrick’s Day. The only way to get rid of it is to fully rest her ankles. So she would go to dance class and do the core workout but no jumping, running, or dancing. She just went back to class two weeks ago but really wanted to give this Feis a try.
She only got a 5th in her traditional set the first day and a 4th in her traditional set on the second day but she did place 2nd in her treble reel and got a trophy so that made her whole weekend.
We are back home now and getting ready for a busy, busy, end to the school year! What did you do this weekend and are you getting ready for summer vacation?
Congratulations to your daughter, Marci. What a great achievement and the outfit is very splendid.

She looks great! I agree on the Wisconsin part, but I’d prefer the LaCrosse area. 🙂

I will have to check that out. We spend 6-8 weekends a year in and around Milwaukee. I am sure there is more I need to see.

Yes! The Mississippi area by Alma, WI is incredible too.

I actually thought of you this weekend. We ate ate at Ragland Road and the special pie was Vension, it was so amazing I wished I could share it with you!

Thank you so much! Her ankle is coming along. Ever since she sprained both ankles a year ago they have never been the same for her.

What a neat experience for you both, and congratulations to your daughter! The costume looks wonderful, and expensive. My kids sports were too. Heck my hobby is! I don’t think there is an inexpensive hobby come to think of it. 🙂
I hope her ankles aren’t going to be a major problem and she can dance as long as she wants to.

Thank you. You are right almost all hobbies are expensive in one way or another. She sprained her ankles a year ago and they haven’t been the same. Hoping with time and more PT she will be able to continue.

I think you would love living in Milwaukee! (I do!😄)

I probably would except winter. It is even farther north!

True. Can’t argue with that, sadly. The only thing that makes winter okay is that Milwaukee enjoys its summers more than just about any other city I know
