We have a busy weekend ahead of us. My daughter is dancing in two Feis (Irish dance competitions) this weekend in Chicago. My son has all day musical rehearsal for “The Wizard of Oz” at his high school. And the two of us have tons of work to get done before Monday. So, we do what we have to and one takes one child and one takes the other. This weekend we switched it up so that I am staying home!
I was thrilled until I went out this morning and was hit with a super cold blast of icy rain. The above picture is what my car looked like this morning. No! It is far too soon for this. I know we typically get a good snow dusting right around Halloween but I was hoping for a bit milder winter this year. Looks like I am not getting my wish.
I drove by the beach just to see how it looked over the lake. They have the winter fencing up and it looks so dreary. I think once I pick my son up later this afternoon we are staying inside and watching movies. Maybe some hot cocoa and popcorn later.
But for now it is time to get the slow cooker going and put on a pan of water, orange peels, and whole cloves to simmer on the stove top. Love how it makes the whole house smell like the holidays AND it warms up the house a bit with the warm steam.

That is one way to wake up…lol… Oh how I wish we got snow…well I mean sometimes we have it…usually ice then some snow…and the idiots drive even faster on the ice and snow…gesh…
We had our first freeze yesterday…woohoo…lol…and woke up to a 35 degrees so a lil kool…dad was cold so I had to turn the heat on for him…
Seems like you all got it figured out : ) I love this time of year and winter toooo… you have the right idea stay inside and hot coco and movies… I have already started drinking my hot coco the other day hehehe…reminds me I need to get powered milk for the hot coco it works great for making hot coco and cheaper…I have this machine that makes it…you just add regular or powered milk and coco and water since you are using powered milk lol and close the lid and and turn it on and it circulates and heats it up pretty hot toooo…I have 2 of these lol I have mine at my house and one here at dads home…since we are here we use his eheheh…
Save some popcorn for me plz…and stay warm and enjoy this day…

Yeah it really is…when its hot enough it turns itself off a perfect temp…
if I had to guess she got it from hellmart heheh…or maybe dollar store…but i would think the hellmart may still have some …but we have had ours at least over 7 years …maybe check online???…and its easy to clean too…

I’m in Northern Wisconsin this weekend and it snowed here all day yesterday. Woke up to about an inch this morning. Yuck. It’s way too early for this!!
