This holiday is second only to Christmas in our house. My Irish dancing daughter started dancing yesterday, Friday, at schools and nursing homes in the area. This morning there is a parade through downtown Kalamazoo. After that a Hooley for Healing. A hooley is an Irish party. This one is a fund raiser for families affected by cancer. My daughter’s dance teacher is the organizer so of course they are dancing all afternoon. Shortly after we will head to a local church so she can dance with a few of her friends during a church dinner. Then tomorrow, Sunday, she will be heading out to dance with a local Irish band for the afternoon.
I love this time of year. The fun, the music, the dancing, and all the laughter that comes with it.
