Top 5 Recipes for May 2018

May was certainly a crazy month for us! I don’t know about you but the weather at the beginning was downright cold and then it shot to summer overnight.  We have been busy with end of the school year programs, concerts, and competitions but things should be slowing down soon.

All of the top recipes for May are super simple dishes that help get dinner on the table quickly and with a bit of planning ahead make meal time a snap!

This Quiche Lorraine (click for link to recipe) with lots of Swiss cheese and bacon (make a bit extra on the weekend to use in this dish later in the week) and a store-bought crust this dish is easy to make and tastes heavenly.  The custard filling is smooth and creamy. Kids don’t like Quiche? My kids didn’t either until I called it egg pie.

Creamy firecracker chicken (click for link to original recipe) can be on the table in about 30 minutes. Like a spicy dish? Add extra hot sauce or red pepper flakes. Want it a bit mellower? Add a little less hot sauce and more brown sugar. This meal is so easy that if you have older children they can easily make this dinner with your help.

This recipe for Slow Cooker Pork Chops with Sauerkraut and Apples (click for link to recipe) surprised me being in the top 5 this month. I always think of pork chops and sauerkraut as a fall food. It is not and this dish is so good year round. The apple adds a nice crunch to the dish and the flavors will have you thinking of Oktoberfest.

Super Loaded Nachos (click for link to blog post) are a super simple dinner. They can be put together in minutes if you plan ahead and cook your meat over the weekend or in your “spare” time and refrigerate or freeze until you need it. My family loves this meal because everyone gets exactly what they want. More onions, jalapeno, or olives? It is all up to you!

Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Pork Chops (click for link to recipe) has been in the top 5 recipes for the past 6 months. The stuffing is delicious with the boneless pork chops and is easy to make. The most difficult part is to not over stuff the pork chops because you want all of that delicious flavor!
