Check In Day: 133

We were so careful. We have not gone to eat-in restaurants for months, no parties, only about 5 people we allowed to come over and only because we knew that they were all being careful with masks, social distancing, washing hands, and using hand sanitizer all the time. We weren’t careful enough. My son’s friend who was at our house last week tested positive.

We didn’t think it would come back positive. He was having symptoms but we assumed it was mono. What a world we live in when mono is a hope. They immediately closed the restaurant where he worked as a prep person (no contact with customers) for a deep cleaning per the local health department. It has caused quite a stir in our little city as we all realize how interconnected we are even with thinking we are socially distant and safe.

We are all okay so far. My daughter needs to have the Covid test to go back to work. The rest of us were told by the doctor to wait and see. Wear a mask, wash our hands well, and go on with our lives until we feel symptomatic. We are staying away from people out of an abundance of caution. At church I play hand bells and the average age of the players is about 70. There is no way I am going to play even with a mask and gloves. I would feel terrible if I was to blame for someone getting sick and or possible dying. So, we will self isolate until the end next week just to be sure.

This just seems like the perfect end to a week that has been filled with really high ups and downs. How are things with you all?

Seems like bad things always happen to good people. Being the good people you are, you are giving us all another wake-up call. The hard part about the testing is the long wait for results, causing anxiety, lost wages, and disruption of so many lives. God bless you for turning lemons into lemonade (must be cause you are such a good cook to begin with!)

We are okay with everything. We are taking it well. We have been in strict lockdown for 4 days now. Right now testing is taking 2-5 days here. Hopefully C’s will arrive before Monday.
