Last night’s dinner was a a bit of this and that to create the Turkey Cordon Bleu Burgers.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 lbs. ground white meat turkey or ground chicken
- 4 TBSP McCormack Montreal Seasoning (use to taste – my family likes flavor so I used a bit more)
- 3 TBSP Dried Parsley
- 4 oz. Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
- 4 oz. diced ham
- 4 oz. Swiss cheese for topping
- Mix ground turkey, parsley and seasoning mix together well in bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit in refrigerator 1-2 hours.
- Remove meat from refrigerator and form meat into 8 patties – thinner at the center than the edges.
- In the center of 4 of the patties place 1 oz of ham and 1 oz of the thinly sliced Swiss cheese. Make sure that it in the center and not too close to the edges or all your melted ham and cheese will run out during cooking.
- Take a second plain burger and place it on top of the ham and Swiss burger. Seal the edges between the two burgers well by folding bits of the edges of the bottom burger into the top. Check to make sure the burgers are well sealed with no cracks or holes.
- Cook over medium heat in a fry pan until completely cooked through. Place a cover over the fry pan to help the burgers cook all the way through. When the burgers are done about 20 minutes or so then top with the Swiss cheese turn off the burner and cover with lid until the cheese is melted.
Serve with Dijon Mustard if preferred.
My family loved these. The McCormack Seasoning added quite a bit of flavor to meat that can be bland and the meat and cheese inside was a cute little surprise to the kids.
Warning they are HUGE! But, there was not a single bite left on anyone’s plate at the end of the meal.
