Yes this really is boxed Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper Italian Cheese and Shells.  We returned home from vacation the other night and I had almost nothing in my cupboards for dinner.   My children took out what they thought was ground beef from the freezer.  Well, it was ground country pork sausage!

Several people I know would have put the boxes away and given up.  They didn’t have the exact ingredients for the recipe.  I gave the Hamburger Helper a try any ways.  It was YUMMY!  A bit salty but we all preferred it made this way to plain hamburger or ground turkey.  There was another whole level of flavors that wasn’t covered by the sauce as the hamburger or ground turkey usually are.

I don’t know why I doubted myself as I am constantly changing ingredients when cooking (baking is a totally different and you need to be fairly precise in that but with cooking? anything goes).  Don’t have an ingredient think outside the box and add something your family might just like more than the original!
