Dear All,
It has been a hectic few days and I haven’t posted but I wanted to make sure that I took the time to wish you all Happy Holidays! Whether you celebrate Christmas, just finished Hanukkah, Kwanza, St. Lucia Day, Three Kings Day, Epiphany, or any other day may your days be filled with all the ones you love surrounding you.
I received a gift earlier this month (click for link to original post) that reminds me of a Native American story that at one point the ancestors are standing behind the story-teller with their hands on each others shoulders creating a link from the past to now. I feel this tug to the past more this year maybe because of the reminder of family from this gift and that in my family we are digging into older traditions from our families this year as ways to celebrate those who came before us.
I have a picture in my head that not only includes all my ancestors but my friends who died far too soon in the link for they were each in my life to teach me certain things. Sally, perseverance when the world seemed against you. Aaron, always be skeptical and look at the bigger picture (and of course always stand up for your friends no matter what). On and on….
So many of you are not family but you are part of my link to the bigger world. I thank each of you for your writing, your commenting, your sharing your ideas, and most of all your friendship.
May you have holiday season filled with light and love. May we all have peace on Earth this day and every day.
