Slowing Down, Almost

Well, the first graduation party is over. It was a beast. We headed to Kalamazoo for the weekend so we could be with friends and family that were driving in and be near where the party was going to be held to make set-up and break down easier. We were holding the party in an open pavilion in a park on Saturday. If you were just about anywhere in the US this weekend the temperatures were predicted to be 110+ on the heat index. UGH!

So, we shopped all day Friday for anything that we could easily carry into the hotel or could be left in 160 degree-ish car overnight. We met family for dinner Friday night. We were so fortunate that they drove in from Rochester for the party.

Then on Saturday morning we were leaving the hotel at 10:00 am to go to the park to set-up and we had a flat tire! After a call to AAA and them telling us that it could be up to 2 hours because of the call volume. After several phone calls to family for help we got all the food on the way to the pavilion.

It was a hot day but we were surrounded by trees and every once in a while there was a breeze but everyone still had a touch of heat exhaustion by the end of the day.

My daughter set up two tables with her medals, trophys, and pictures for graduation. I think she did a great job.

One more party in two weeks and we are done for a couple of weeks, yeah!

Wish I could have been there with the clan! I baby sat for BJ and Laura’s three little guys while they celebrated her birthday with a weekend in Newport. Congratulations once again.

That’s so exciting! My youngest son has his graduation on Thursday… then we are done for a couple years until his older brother graduates from university. We are so proud of our kids and how they make their ways, aren’t we?
