Normally I make this dish in my giant crock-pot by searing the pork roast quickly in a frying pan until it gets that nice brown coating and then putting it in the crock-pot to cook until with a bottle of good barbecue sauce like Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ Sauce. But, about a month ago my large crock pot broke and I have not replaced it yet. All I have is the smaller one which will not hold a whole roast.
So, I started by searing the roast but then put it in the oven to cook. After 3 hours I took the roast out of the oven, sliced it and put it in the crock-pot to finish with the barbecue sauce. It was good. Not as good as when I cook it slowly in the crock-pot but everyone really liked it.
Time to get another crock-pot that I can put a whole roast in.
