This is for my kids. They LOVE egg nog. Not the kind you buy in a carton or the thick gloppy stuff you cook they prefer the version from the Betty Crocker’s Cookbook for Boys and Girls. It is a fairly simple recipe and they can make it by themselves. This time of year they are making it once or twice a week.
Verdict:
I love that they can make this on their own. I don’t like egg nog but they both love it.
Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 cup cold milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- Sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon
Directions:
- With a handheld mixer beat egg.
- Add in sugar, salt, milk and vanilla and continue to beat until well mixed.
- Pour in a cold glass.
- Sprinkle top with nutmeg and cinnamon and serve immediately.
I was just telling a friend of mine that I used to make the homemade egg nog recipe from the Betty Crocker Junior Cookbook I had when I was a kid. Loved it!
