We all have “those” days. This was mine.
My daughter had wanted German Style Pork Chops with Ginger Snap Gravy with German potato salad and braised red cabbage for her birthday dinner. She had dance so before we left the house early in the morning I had her start the pork chops so at least they would be cooked before we got home later.
When we arrived home at 8:00 pm we both though the house would smell more like vinegar and spices than it did. We checked the slow cooker and it was on. Hmmm. The slow cooker had never been plugged in. The pork had been sitting on the counter for almost 8 hours. So, the entire dish was dumped into the garbage. Sigh.
We all have these days. So, I ran out and picked up a pizza. I could have made one of my back-up meals but some days it is okay to just order out or pick up a pizza. This was one of those days.
I’ve done this!

I did the same thing once and now I check the darned slow cooker three times before I’m convinced it’s plugged in and turned on! LOL It’s good to know that I’m not the only one. But the original birthday dinner sounds fabulous and I’m sure you’ll post the recipe. Right? You’ll do it?

Bummer. But, yeah, it happens. So sorry you had to waste all that pork. Happy Birthday to your daughter. I bet she will still get her meal . . . it will just be on a different day!
