With only about a month or so left in beach season I had the urge the other night to squeeze in a quick evening trip to the beach. Because the sun sets at 9:30 pm we were able to grab subs, soda, and chips before heading out at 8:00 pm.
I love that the beach is only a mile from our house and we can just stop when we have extra time on nights like this. This was one of my summer bucket list items – To have a late dinner at the beach. Whether we made our own sandwiches or bought them I don’t care because we are spending time together having fun!
A quick phone call home and everyone was waiting with their swim suits on and beach towels all ready to go when I picked them up. I think everyone was happy about having a evening swim and cooling off a bit. We stayed through sunset and even a little after dragging our feet a bit as we left knowing there are not too many beach days left before school starts up again.
Who could pass up this scene for a bit to eat and a late swim? Perfection.
I agree Marci, what a perfect evening. 🙂

Nice! It doesn’t look cold or windy either! It gets so cold here often in the evenings at the beach.
I’m 30 minutes away from the beach I’m a wee bit envious of you being only a mile away! Hope you’re able to squeeze in another evening picnic before Summer’s end!
