Picture from our 2015 trip to Walt Disney World
My daughter and I are making one last trip to Disney World while she is still a child (well, at least in my eyes). She will graduate from high school in June and is planning to move to get ready for college shortly after. She and I made a trip to Disney World three years ago and we had such a wonderful time that I always wished we would get one more time to do this special trip together. Because of school schedules, work schedules, and life this is it and it couldn’t be more perfectly timed.
I have promised myself to be joyful in the coming months. I have done the job I set out for myself when she was born. I wanted to raise a child who would be a leader, a healer, and an awesome human being. I have done what I could. I may not have been the perfect mom but I did my best. As she graduates I hope she knows that no matter what I did my best for her.
So, we are going to celebrate on this trip with lots of fun times and more stories to tell.
Nice memories. Now your daughter is grown up and will soon be gradugradua ting from college . Congrats Mom…Job well done ! GARY

Each trip has been wonderfully different. We started when each were 16 months old and have gone at least once a year since then. 😉

I understand you so well, Marci! We don’t mind at all that our kids are growing up and how they get to manage their life more and more without us. That is what we want to achieve and what is our purpose in raising kids. But once a mother, always a mother. it holds a sweet melancholy. Yesterday, I went for a wedding dress with my daughter and two of her friends for my daughter. Special goosebumps moments in all ways!

You say it! Only because they are grown doesn’t mean the magic has stopped 😊

Awww best of luck to you and her. This is a great idea. I did something similar last year for my daughter. We took a road trip to the West Florida beaches because we’d never seen them. It was a great memory, so I understand the sentiment here.

How fun and bittersweet. I hope you two have a wonderful time!
Will daughter get a new pair of ears? I wonder if there is a new pair out for 2018? I only have the old original ears packed away somewhere that are ever so old now. 🙂

She actually made and brought 10 pair! She is hoping to find graduation ears this trip.

I hope she finds a pair! Did she make the pair in the photo of you two? I seem to recall we had a short dialogue about her ears before…now that you mentioned she made 10 pairs of ears. Didn’t we? 🙂 My mind is like a sieve sometimes.
These ears look like the real deal! I have no doubt she could make a pair representing her graduation.

My first trip ever to Walt Disney World was a mother daughter trip, most amazing and special trip I ever had because it was with my mom. She started my passion for all things Disney. Love your post and that you got to experience such a special vacation as well!
