Choose Your Topping Pork Chops

We made a deal that if we were done before dinner before the ice cream shop closed we would get ice cream and head to the beach. It was already 8:00 pm so we weren’t sure if it was possible. This meal made it possible. Super simple and we were to the beach before sunset! Isn’t it gorgeous.

Still HOT here. The grill is our best option for cooking. We have air conditioning but I don’t want to be cooking over the stove or turn the oven on all day. We decided to use up some of the odds and ends in our refrigerator and this is where this meal was created. Seriously, this is one of the best ways I have had to clean our refrigerator.


We had several bottles of sauce in our refrigerator. You know those bottles. The ones that have enough for 1 person but nothing that you can use for dinner or a recipe.  So, we decided to grill some pork steaks that we had on hand and put out all the bottles that had just a bit in them and everyone could choose what they wanted on their meat. We had barbecue, Teriyaki, steak sauce, soy sauce, and honey mustard. Find what you have and use it up!

Also, do this with any meat you have in your freezer you want to use up too! Chicken? Pork loin? Hamburger! Don’t waste the food use it up.

I served this dish with buttered noodles and Parmesan, and green beans. Make the sides simple that will go with anything. Rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes work well.

Choose Your Toppings Pork Chops

Clean out your refrigerator and put dinner on the table easily.


  • 2 lb. pork steaks, I had really large ones so I cut then in half
  • salt and black pepper
  • Any sauces you have in your refrigerator that you want to empty the bottles of


  1. Preheat your grill.
  2. Rub your pork chops or steaks with salt and black pepper.
  3. Cook your steak on the grill. Depending on their thickness from 10-15 minutes. Once they are cooked through remove from the grill.
  4. Serve on a buffet with any sauces you have.
