This is a recipe that has been around for a long time. This is the recipe my mother-in-law used in the 60s-70s. She had been to visit her cousin in Texas and had “Tex-Mex” for the first time. She brought this recipe back to New York with her and it was a hit. We had it for special occasions and then we started making it.
Verdict:
This is a favorite dip that is making a comeback to our parties. It has been years since we made this but we had a craving the other night for comfort food and out it came. This dip is great for parties and football games (keep it warm over a sterno flame or in a slow cooker). Stir it occasionally to keep the film from forming over the top.
Serve with tortilla chips or firm crudites such as celery or carrots.
A simple queso dip that can be ready quickly. Ingredients: Directions:Velveeta Queso Dip
We put this out at every sports gathering and the bowl is always empty at half time. Never disappoints.
