Oven S’Mores

Day 76 – Finally the temperatures have turned this week in Michigan. It is still a bit rainy but instead of cold and mud we have lush green trees, green lawns, lots of dandelions and pollen. Everything has that nice pollen yellow sheen over it. So, if you have allergies not a great time but everything finally seems to be in bloom. We don’t have a fire pit right now and everyone seems to be outside cooking s’mores. I am so jealous! Yes, we have made microwave s’mores but they are not the same. I like that nice brown toasty marshmallow to melt the chocolate. This is the best way we have found to make s’more without a flames. The graham crackers don’t get soft or soggy and the marshmallows are perfectly cooked!

Verdict: These are soooo yummy! You have to watch the marshmallow carefully or they will  burn faster than you can imagine. But, when you get that nice brown coating on the outside. Ooooo. They are so good. Make sure you spray your aluminum foil well and watch the marshmallows to have some delicious indoor s’mores!

Oven S'Mores

  • Servings: as many as you like
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Ingredients:

  • Marshmallows, full size not minis
  • chocolate bar squares (your favorite – caramels, peanut butter cups, and plain chocolate all work well
  • graham crackers – broken into squares

Directions:

  1. Set your oven to broil. And prepare a baking pan by covering it with aluminum foil and spraying it VERY WELL with non-stick spray.
  2. Place the marshmallows about 1″ – 1 1/2″ apart on the baking sheet.
  3. Place the marshmallows under the broiler. This is where you have to watch them VERY closely. It will take only a few seconds on each side to brown. Turn the marshmallows over once they start to brown. In our oven it was less than 5 seconds on high broil but it will depend on your oven.
  4. Remove pan from oven and immediately scoop the marshmallows onto graham crackers prepared with a piece of chocolate. Squeeze together to help melt the chocolate and get the gooey marshmallow.
