My family loves German food and I am always looking for new burger toppings and ways to make them. How about combining two of our favorites? German food and Burgers? Yes!
Verdict: The flavor of these were amazing. The mixture of ground pork and beef with the caraway seeds added a great flavor and tons of juiciness to the burgers. The mixture of mayonnaise and ground mustard is a great addition especially for those that find stone ground mustard too strong. My kids loved it must stir a bit of each together to taste.
I served this with broccoli and a green side salad to complete the meal.
Whole grain mustard (mixed with mayonnaise if desired, try it YUMMY!)
Pretzel Rolls or Brioche Buns
Directions:
Make the burger mixture. Using your hands, mix in the salt, caraway seeds, and pepper in with the ground pork and beef. Mix in the chopped parsley and sour cream.Form into patties about 1/4 lb each.
Cook the hamburgers on a grill on medium heat, 4-5 minutes each side, until the burgers are cooked through. Add cheese to melt before adding to rolls.
Toast the buns: Remove the burgers from the heat and toast the buns on the pan or grill.
Assemble the burgers: Place each burger on a toasted bun half and toss with a dollop of whole grain mustard(with mayo if desired) and a sprinkling of sauerkraut.
Sometimes I think we are on the same wavelength. lol. I have a post in queue just like this. Stay tuned. 🍁🍂🌾
