The temps dropped to the low 30s over the weekend. They are back in the high 60s/low 70s during the day but the evenings have that crisp fall feeling that make me look to to the homey, old-fashioned dishes. Spices filling the house with warm scents mean a perfect fall dinner to me.
It is time for casseroles, chowders, and warming dishes that are easy to make and have tons of flavor.
Verdict: I read that sloppy joes are going out of style and should stay out. What? One recommendation was to serve Sloppy Joes on lettuce wraps. Which is good if you are cutting carbs but Grandma’s Sloppy Joes need to be on rolls. These are more savory than sweet like some sloppy joes.
I served these with green beans and a side salad to complete the meal.
