5 Independence Day Dishes

My wife is having surgery on Wednesday so we are super busy right now getting ready for that, friends from out of town visiting, and my son’s graduation party all at once! The next few days will be the hardest with her out of commission for the month but we will get through. So, this will be my last post until after Independence Day. If you are at all a praying or thoughtful intentions person please send prayers and good thoughts for her surgery and our family to get through this with grace.

Whether you are having a big party, family picnic, or enjoying peace and quiet with your family this year here are a few dishes to fill your plates with!

Southern-Style Potato Salad (click for link to recipe)

Even my mayo based salad hating daughter loved this dish because the hint of apple cider vinegar added enough flavor to the dish she could overlook the mayo. She even added an extra splash to her plate to ramp up the vinegar flavor.

Ramen Asian Salad (click for link to recipe)

This salad was a hit of the potluck circuits about 12-15 years ago. It’s time for it to make a comeback. This tangy dish with an pre-cut coleslaw mix, frozen edemame, and toasted almonds means this dish comes together in no time. Double the recipe for a crowd.

Holiday Creamy Macaroni and Cheese (click for link to recipe)

Everyone loves macaroni and cheese! This creamy dish is a hit at parties and for dinner with the family. It complements grilled meats and bulks up your side dishes. Double the recipe and bake in an aluminum pan for easy clean-up after your party.

Johnny Appleseed Burger (click for link to recipe)

This burger packs flavor in each bite! Pickled onions and tasty cheddar in each bite leave you wanting more. What is more All-American than Johnny Appleseed for the Fourth of July!

Chicago Style Hot Dogs (click for link to recipe)

Chicago dogs have a bit of everything on them. Sport peppers, dill pickles, tomatoes and poppy seeds make this hot dog a flavorful addition to your toppings bar for the parties and gatherings. Relish and onions complete the hot dog all on a toasted bun.

Which is your favorite to serve?
