Silver Beach Pizza

Fall Tree in Full Color

The trees are turning fast. Our tree on the edge of driveway is about 50-60% all ready.  Many of the other trees on the street are still green but our maple tree is pretty well turned. What that means is I can no longer deny that fall really is here. The 45-50 degree nights should have been my clue but I am well set in denial.

Silver Beach Pizza - Undertow

I think my daughter’s first words (after Barney – the big purple dinosaur) were cheese and pizza. We can remember her at about, 16 months old, crying for ‘za after picking up a pizza to take to a friend’s house. We finally held a piece of the crust out the window in 32 F degree temperatures to cool it down enough for her to gnaw on. And of course her famous, “Cheese on it?” question for every dinner dish we ate. Pizza and cheese are still two of her most favorite foods.

A local pizza place, Silver Beach Pizza, was holding a fund-raiser where 10% of the profits from sales would go to the local school foundation. A win for the local school district and a win for me because I don’t have to make dinner! We decided to order out since most of the town was headed to the restaurant for dinner.

We may order pizza once a month or so but even then it is a big treat in our house. This pizza is what we call Boutique Pizza in our house. It is good and has lots of great toppings but is really fancy pizza. This is the Undertow. Pepperoni, Sausage, Fresh Garlic and Bacon with cheese. It is delicious! I love the crispy edges where the cheese has dripped over the edge and is still crispy. Delicious!

My mostly gluten-free son loves their pizza because he can order his favorites with gluten-free crust.
