Blueberry Angel Food Cake

Blueberry Angel Food Cake

Dessert for dinner. Yes, this is really what we ate for dinner. Our house air conditioner stopped working sometime yesterday and when we arrived home it was almost 80 degrees in the house. We turned the air down, checked the filters, turned it off and on and nothing. Ugh.

So, it was too late to call someone so we had to make do. I did not want to cook dinner. We had just purchased 10 lbs. of blueberries and had an angel food cake so there was dinner! No one complained.

I took a few cups of the blueberries and added a few tablespoons of sugar to sweeten them a bit. Poured it over the angel food cake and added a few dollops of whipped cream to the top. I cut the cake into four pieces and served it for dinner.

Yes, this is our life. I try to keep it as honest as possible and sometimes we have dessert for dinner.  You do what you have to do to make the best of things.

Thank you. We are trying to stay out as much as possible until Monday when they could send someone to look at it. Always happens during a heatwave.

Oh no! I hope you guys get your AC fixed soon, nobody likes melting in this horrid summer heat. I don’t know how you could sleep in it! I cannot sleep if I’m hot.

Luckily we have a separate unit for our bedroom because it was added on a few years ago. We dragged mattresses into our room and the kids slept on the floor. Not great sleep but at least cooler.

I’m sorry that happened to you. We went through it a few years ago. It’s kind of weird because I’m actually working in a post about summer and a/c. 🙂

Lol. We never had air until we moved here 3 years ago. Now it feels awful without it. Amazing how quickly you become acclimated to it.

Thank you! It is nice because tonight we are all in one room watching the Olympics which we may not have done if the air were working. Making good memories!
