Christmas Treats: Rolo Pretzels

My daughter received an Easter treat from a family friend of pretzels topped with Hershey Kisses and M&Ms. She loved them! Then she remembered that she had heard of them being made with Rolos too. Adding caramel she knew would give that sweet & salty taste an extra boost.

These are so simple to make and you could easily add them to a cookie tray or candy tray as a simple take along to your holiday parties.

Verdict:

These are awesome with Hershey kisses or Rolo candies. They take less than 10 minutes to make and you can have a whole tray ready in minutes.

Rolo Pretzels

A simple sweet and salty treat your kids can help you make!

Ingredients:

  • 20-30 Rolo candies or Hershey kisses, unwrapped
  • 20-30 M&M candies (use ones colored for the closest holiday to make them festive! Red, white, and blue, or red and green)
  • 20-30 pretzels (knots or squares work best)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees. Cover a rimmed cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lay pretzels out in a single layer on the parchment paper. They can be close together.
  3. Place one Rolo candy or Hershey Kiss on each pretzel.
  4. Bake for 3-5 minutes until candy just starts to melt but still has its shape.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately lightly press one M&M candy into the top of each chocolate candy.
  6. Remove pan to area to cool completely. I put the pan in the refrigerator after they have cooled enough.
  7. Eat or store in covered container.

Sweet and salty? Perfect! I actually asked her today to make them again with cashews on top instead of M&Ms for a bit more salty texture.
