Twenty-Two Weeks: This week has really kicked my butt. I have been having lots of problems with my blog. I finally contacted the WordPress people because I couldn’t save any of my work! It would consistently come up with an error message. I tried going out and reloading, different browsers all the usual tricks I know. Nothing. Then I couldn’t load images. UGH! Frustrating. First world problems I know. But, just added to the level of frustration this week.
We also had to decide how to send our son back to school this week. It is a no win situation. He is a senior this year. He wants to go in person and see his friends and teachers that are familiar to him. I want him to stay home because Covid 19 is growing in our area again and add on top of that the flu starting up again? But, we have decided to let him go in person figuring it will only last 2-4 weeks before they go back online. I know that sounds like a ridiculous way to think about it but if we choose virtual school, the only other choice, it is teachers that do not know him and all his quirks, they could be anywhere in the country not necessarily our area, and with 4 AP classes this year he really needs that consistency of people who get him. I am struggling with this decision but I know it will all work out somehow.
We are preparing my daughter’s room for her to stay home this school year. We have taken EVERYTHING out of her room and are starting over. I thought this is what I would be doing in April or May. It is instead August. At least I am getting around to it now. So, my living room is filled with all the trappings of a young girls room – stuffed animals, books, crafting supplies, and various toys to now change her room into a more college like room. We want to make it more like a small apartment for her so she doesn’t feel so confined taking a deferment from college for a year. But, I need to get her room done and then on to the next. This will be a 2-3 month project through the whole house. I cleaned before but now we are CLEANING.
You working on any projects around your home?
I know how you feel about the decision regarding you son, Marci. I am making this same decision about my two boys. They need to go back to school and see their friends, even if it’s from a distance and with a mask. Such touch times.

That is a very cool project. Marci. I am sure, your daughter appreciates this a lot. It is like having a new home in a familiar place. I can imagine how you may be feeling about sending your son to school. But then again, the young peeps need social contact in order to develop when even there are not the best conditions around, lately. I like your attitude that it will all work out in the end.
Last year we remodeled 4 rooms in our house within 2 weeks (basically on the weekends). We just finished the big garden projects which started last spring, actually. I am very happy about the result when even keeping it in shape needs a lot of time… next to the many projects, my two jobs, and my studies… but it is all worth it!

I’m glad that I was able to get new gutters and bigger downspouts installed earlier in the pandemic because it has rained cats and dogs this spring and summer.
I had previously planned to have my basement carpet removed and replaced with some type of other flooring due to flooding last July but then the pandemic happened. I am also in the process of obtaining an estimate on having my driveway redone. So it never ends, lol.
At least the project with your daughter sounds like fun.

Those are big things! We had to get a washer and dishwasher during this. The project is fun but right now my living room is full of EVERYTHING from her room. Only thing left in there is her bed and dresser right now. Tomorrow we refill it and wait for the new furniture to be delivered.

Yes , they are big items!
Yes, that can be a headache, making your way around stuff. Alas, part of my basement is still that way.
