As we are eating more salads and looking for quick appetizers to make for dinners I am trying my hand at making salad dressings and dips. I can control the amount of sugar and make the flavors to what my family really likes. Plus sometimes salad dressings and dips just don’t taste as good as you want them to when they are shelf stable.
Verdict: You can make this thick or thin by adding a bit more buttermilk. It is delicious as a dip for Buffalo wings, carrots, and celery. This it out and it is a yummy salad dressing. Taste and add extra spices to your taste. It is yummy!
Ingredients: 1/2 cup sour cream Directions:Homemade Ranch Dip and Salad Dressing
1/2 cup buttermilk, plus additional as needed
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried dill
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
salt and black pepper, to taste

A lovely recipe, Marci. We managed to take a mini break in the mountains which was very refreshing.

I love ranch dressing, we don’t get it here in Ireland, but when I visit the USA I always make up for not having it here. I eat lots of it!

I never thought of Ranch dressing not being in other countries. It is such a staple here. Interesting.
