Twenty-nine weeks: Over 200 days since Covid-19 shut downs began and now the Trumps have tested positive for Covid-19. I wonder if this changes everything or nothing at all.
I went to play handbells at church the other day and realized I have not been inside somewhere in quite awhile. I went to a store back in July for my birthday and other than 3 hotel stays and one visit to a museum I have not gone inside anywhere other than my home. I order groceries for pick-up and someone brings them to my car. I now use online ordering where before I used it a couple times a year I am using it weekly. Even my flu shot next week is a drive through clinic at the doctor’s office.
Someone at bells said I needed to get out and get used to this because it could be another year or two before things start to quiet down. A year or two? That took my breath away.
I have already started planning on Thanksgiving and Christmas if we are back down a phase or two due to adding in the flu season to this mess. We have plans to go to North Carolina to visit family and for family to visit us but if it is not possible I want to have plans. Christmas season is my favorite and I am going to enjoy it to the fullest this year no matter what.
Are you making plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas yet or going to wait and see?
Hi Marci, I have also come around to your way of thinking about this pandemic. We are also starting to try to get on with our lives and rely on wearing masks and the other safety measures that are in place. My son’s doctor says that masks offer a very high rate of protection against COVID-19. I also think this illness will be around for a few years.

We are hoping to be home for Thanksgiving. We are usually away as my daughter is an Irish dancer and the Oireachtas is that week. We haven’t had Thanksgiving at home in years.

She just turned 20. She has been dancing for 10 years. She started late.

Nothing more than usual. Keeping it family only and not going anywhere.

Yeah, we are probably not going to be anywhere other than home this year.
