As of Wednesday Michigan is moving back down a level in the Covid fight. They are suspending high school, eating in restaurants, no movies, bowling, and elementary schools are at the discretion of the district. If your job can be done from home you are to stay home.
I was able to play bells on Sunday in church but we all knew it would probably be the last time until January given the rise in positive numbers and deaths over the past few weeks. I am sad. I know it is the right thing but doing this again for 3-4 weeks I hope actually makes a dent in the numbers and we can have a decent Christmas season.
Verdict: These little sliders are always a hit. We needed something to brighten our night so little sandwiches that you can eat with your hands? My family loves them all!
I paired this with a side of green beans and a green side salad to complete the meal.
2 tablespoons butter, melted plus more to grease baking sheet
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter the bottom of a rimmed baking sheet.
In a large skillet over medium heat add olive oil and diced onion then 2 lbs ground beef. Break the beef into small pieces as it cooks. Season with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, and 1 tsp garlic powder. Remove cooked ground beef from heat and drain off excess grease.
Stir in 1/4 cup mayonnaise.
Cut buns in half in a sheet horizontally. Place bottom half of dinner rolls on buttered baking sheet. Place sliced cheese on roll bottoms in a layer. Spread ground beef mixture evenly over the sliced cheese. Top the ground beef with shredded cheddar.
Place the top of buns, cut-side down, over the meat and cheese. Brush tops with melted butter and immediately sprinkle tops with sesame seeds. Bake at 350˚F for 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
I am so sorry to hear you are having another lockdown. I assume your son will be schooling from home again. I found that very difficult, I must say. Let’s hope it passes quickly. Thank you for this great recipe.
Thank you! Yes, he starts home on Wednesday. He is torn. He loves that he gets 2 extra hours of sleep as they don’t start online until 9 am versus the usual 7 am in person. But, he will miss his friends. He has arranged a game online for them on Saturdays to stay in touch better.
