Sweet and Spicy Chicken

I love the dishes that are semi-homemade and you can get on the table easily when you don’t want to cook or you are running out of time and your family wants dinner now and and even ordering out seems difficult. We had one of those nights. I tried to order pizza online, twice, and the order failed to go through. Then I thought lets order chicken. An order of chicken, sides, and rolls to be delivered would be over 90 minutes. That was part of the problem I also did not want to go out and pick up the order.

What do I have in the freezer and pantry? Chicken strips and pasta. Off we go for an indoor picnic. It is packaged chicken strips taken up a notch!

Verdict: You can make these a bit spicier or sweet according to your family’s taste. We liked the tangy barbecue taste. Use your favorite jarred or homemade barbecue sauce.

We added Hawaiian Macaroni Salad (click for link to recipe) which has a vinegary tangy flavor that paired well with the sweet & spicy sauce on the chicken. I added a green side salad and green beans to complete the meal.
