Ooey Gooey Simple Brownies

Some days you just want something sweet. We had some ice cream but it was vanilla. Plain vanilla ice cream was not going to do. We had all of the ingredients in the pantry for this. This is a yummy hot brownie (remember I love making new brownie mixes). It is drippy and sweet. Add a scoop of that vanilla ice cream to the top of the a brownie slice and as it melts it just adds to the mix.

Verdict: This was rich and chocolatey on it’s own. With the ice cream it was over the moon like a hot lava cake crumble. It made my teeth ache it is so sweet but my family loved it. The kids have asked for it again and I told them they can make it themselves as it is so easy!

Ooey Gooey Brownies

  • Servings: 12-15
  • Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 1 family sized box brownie mix
  • Ingredients to make brownies according to package directions
  • 1/2 (14.5 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 (14 oz) bag milk chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Make brownies according to package directions and bake in a 13″ x 9″ pan.
  2. Remove brownies from oven when toothpick in center comes out clean. Take a knife while the brownies are warm and make small slits across the entire cake, I make about 9-10 per row across all the way across the cake.
  3. Pour 1/2 can of the sweetened condensed milk across the top of the cake and spread with a rubber spatula. Then sprinkle chocolate chips over the top to melt in. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
