Sitting last night with my son trying to find a time for he and his friends to get together he suddenly had the realization that there wasn’t much time left before the end of school. Because seniors don’t take finals in our district they get out of school 2 weeks early. He will be done with school on May 28th and graduate on June 6th. He had 2 or 3 days in which there is not something scheduled for school or family. He knows it is all stuff that needs to happen – 4 concerts, honors graduate reception by the school board, academic honors ceremony, graduation rehearsals, walk through the elementary and middle schools in their caps and gowns…. All good things but he is very overwhelmed, as are we.

Today they had a donut morning for the seniors and after school they will get their graduate yard signs. Fifteen more days of school.

My daughter and I are at a friend’s in Cincinnati this weekend. This will probably be our last one for quite awhile. Her next Friday is the same weekend her brother graduates so she will be going alone. After that she will be dancing at Nationals for Irish dance in Phoenix, Arizona and we are flying her to that in July as her 21st birthday gift. Plane tickets are crazy expensive right now.

So, things are good. I cry once in a while but mostly from weird things that catch me off guard like a soup commercial or hearing a PBS television show theme song. All is good.  All is good.
