Just before Christmas my daughter had a few friends over for a sleepover. For dinner we did a taco bar and for breakfast we made a waffle bar. It made it so much easier to feed several people with very different food preferences a meal that they would like by offering them choices without making tons of extra work for me!
I made the waffles the night before I needed them. This is the recipe I used with a dash of cinnamon to make the waffles – Homemade Waffles (click for link to recipe). I allowed the waffles to cool and then stored them in gallon plastic storage bags separated by paper towels so they would not stick together. The next morning when the girls wanted breakfast I heated the waffles up in the oven for 5-10 minutes before serving them.
The choices were blue berry syrup, fake maple syrup, real maple syrup, milk chocolate chips, blue berries, strawberries, butter and whipped cream for waffle toppings. My Minnie Mouse Christmas plate is all ready to hold the hot waffles on the counter!
This would also be fun to do with chocolate waffles and make it into a dessert bar by adding chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup, caramel topping, hot fudge and ice cream!
What a great idea! I am going to do this!

It was so much fun for the girls! I have even thought of adding nuts, sprinkles and more fresh fruit next time!

This is a great idea – and perfect for the festive blues too, right? (I’m just trying to find a reason to justify me creating a waffle bar for myself). Love the Minnie Mouse plate too, CUTE! xx

Having a Waffle bar is an absolute favorite ” Breakfast at Supper ” meal for Family Sunday Supper
The adults love it as much as the grand children.
Our children are talking about getting a 2nd waffle maker.
