Recipes for Large Gatherings,Teenagers, or Hearty Eaters

We are in the middle of graduation right now so we are attending LOTS of graduation parties. It is interesting seeing the mix of foods and offerings. I am always looking for dishes that can feed large groups that are simple, fun, and tasty!

Slow Cooker Glazed Meatballs (click for link to recipe)

I love the little bites like this that people can spear with a toothpick. They are super easy to make especially if you start with frozen meatballs. The flavor is good and people always seem to love these little things. You can always make more too if you have extra ingredients on hand by warming them in a big stock pot before adding them to the slow cooker to cook faster.

Slow Cooker Cowboy Baked Beans (click for link to recipe)

I had to add this in here because my mother was just talking about this recipe yesterday and how it is one of her favorites for big gatherings. The beans are super flavorful and they are great for a gathering because it makes a HUGE vat of beans. The bacon and barbecue sauce add so much flavor to what would otherwise be an ordinary dish.

Sundae Bar (click for link to recipe)

Now we get to the “bars.” These are great for large gatherings or teens because everyone can create their own dishes. I don’t know about you but I always find teens to be the pickiest eaters! I don’t want anything green or I don’t eat anything that crunches. Ok, here you go… you can make your own! Add all the toppings you like!

Waffle Bar (click for link to recipe)

Waffle bars are one of my favorites because you can make the waffles the day before and store them overnight in the refrigerator. Heat them up in the oven and add your own spin on toppings. Everything from the ordinary butter and syrup to the fruity raspberries and blueberries or sweet chocolate syrup and whipped cream. How about some chicken to go with those waffles.

Salad Bar (click for link to recipe)

Salad bars a good too because there are certain things I don’t like in my salads and I always feel wasteful pushing them to the side of my plate to throw out later. This way everyone gets exactly what they like and they are happy! My daughter will take some of each while I will stick to the spinach, bacon, onion, and feta.

So many easy ways to fill up a group of teens, hearty eaters, or have simple food at a party!
